The reviews at Slashdot and LUGNET are pretty informative. No doubt
there are plenty of other reviews if you dig a little deeper.
Regarding Minerva, thank you, I'm glad you liked her, because I really
bled over Minerva. In fact I bled over Minerva twice--the design shown
on the web is markedly different from the one in the book. The gear
counts changed between RIS 1.0 and 1.5, and Minerva as originally
designed couldn't be built with 1.5. As a result, I actually solved the
forward/turn-in-place problem two different ways. The second time is
much simpler--the first time involved one sliding worm gear driving four
8t gears.

If you do get my book, be sure to use the online building instructions,
as they'll be a lot easier to see than the ones in the book (and RIS 1.5
