The Mayor of San Juan Capistrano (Hon. John S. Gelff) along with Gerald
J. Miller (Administrator of the San Juan Capistrano Mission) stop for a
moment to admire a diaorama of the San Juan Mission crafterd entirely in
LEGOs by members of the Southern California Lego Train Club.

At this years Swallows Festival, five of the SCLTC club members
contributed their time and efforts to render historic scenes depicting
the notorious pirate Hippolyte Bouchard raiding the mission grounds.
The layout is composed of  thousands of  multicolored LEGO pieces
representing the tireless commitment of each of the club members.

This layout included:

1.  Over 150 LEGO minifigs including pirates, Imperial Soldiers, native
indians, Padres and Frairs
2.  Dana Point harbour with fortified Imperial soldier garrison, wharf
with and two pirate galleon ships
3.  Battle scene where soldiers confront the pirates
4.  Montanez Adobe - Dona Polonia home, nicknamed the 'pied piper of San
Juan,'
5.  San Juan Mission complete with stone church
6.  Vineyards, farm, stable, native shrubby, Sycamore trees and 100's of
flowers!

Club Members participating
Dan Drew for co-ordinating the event and also supplying the
Mission itself
Ray Silva for providing the Dana Point Harbour with galleon, Minifigs, plus
garrison
Susan Michon for providing the historical Montanez Adobe
Brian Stokes for all the MiniFigs with galleon
John Gramely for trees and native indian habit
Raquel Ybarra for the vineyards
