Lone Starship

I’m just a lone starship,

Floating in deep space.

When oh when will I leave this place?

In the darkness I go,

Never knowing what lies ahead.

But yet I set the ship’s direction,

To go cruising the galaxy instead.

I can have no help from my army,

For the comms systems are gone.

I have no hope in returning

To my home system at all,

For I have no time

To look at star-charts.

I wish I could have stayed,

To live and to play,

But I realize reality,

And remember,

I’m just a lone starship,

Floating in the dark.
