Favorite LEGO toys/themes: 9V Trains, Classic Town

My fascination with LEGO began... Shortly after birth. I think I got my first sets, the Motorcycle Shop and Snorkel Squad, around age 3 or 4.

I once built... an airport monorail using parts from a 1999 space monorail, because I can't afford the $300 or so for a genuine Airport Shuttle.

Someday I will build... an entire room to house my town/train layout in.

LEGO is great because... The possibilities are limited only by one's imagination, and any set can be rebuilt and redesigned indefinitely, making LEGO a sort of perpetual entertainment.

LEGO fans are great because... It's like the quote, "I never met a LEGO fan I didn't like." I'm not sure why that works, but it does.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: R/C Airplanes

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Cycling, Camping, and being outdoors.

My favorite Foods: Lobster

My favorite Movies & TV: TV: Mathnet (from Square One), Red Dwarf, Keeping up Appearances. Movies: James Bond, Mary Poppins

My favorite Music: Classic Rock (Styx, The Beatles, ELO, and others) and Classical.

Words which best describe me: Engineering nerd who has never quite grown up.

I love it when... An idea strikes me for a new and fabulous LEGO creation.

I hate it when... I have to go to sleep at night and stop building things.

I can't seem to get enough... Trains!

I always seem to have enough... 1x1 red bricks.

I hope I always... get to keep and play with my LEGO collection.

I wish I could... work at LEGO designing new sets.

I could never... purchase Best-Lock or Mega-Blocks.

I hope I never... see the retirement of 9V Trains.

I wish I hadn't... lapsed on my collecting of trains between 1993 and 1995 and missed great sets like the 4552 Cargo Crane.

In my craziest moments... I think, hmm, maybe I really do have enough 9V train sets.

Believe it or not... I remember when you could buy LEGO sets at drugstores like Eckerd. I got my Galaxy Charger there in 1987 or something.

If I were super-human... Hey, wait... you mean I'm not?

More & Less:
  • more 9V Trains, less Bionicle
  • more Classic Space, less Clikits
  • more Sales of LEGO Trains through small, local retailers, less Retail of LEGO sets through Wal-Mart, with their limited, highly-targeted selection of sets.

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Be a good person.
  2. Moderation in all things.
  3. Build like crazy!
