David Jolley
("Trapnet")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Space and Castle mostly, although I also collected the Western and Adventurers sets and I have lots of Aquazone and plan to build a big project at somepoint with this.

My fascination with LEGO began... My first love was Space, and has remained special throughout my Lego building "career". I am just about space complete and have been collecting it since I was 5 years old, with NO "dark ages"! I also collected Castle on and off in between and have since made this a priority now, although bulk bricks and own project related rather than the sets. I pretty much dabbled with all the System themes as I had extensive Town, Technic and Pirate collections which I recently sold and traded through Lugnet and Ebay to fund my Castle building.

I once built... I have built many MOC's, not all of which I took photos of, which I regret now. A vast majority of them were Space bases but now I'm putting all my energy into my one big Castle, which I am taking my time with and building as a long-term display.

Someday I will build... Someday I will finish this Castle display. I'd also love to do something as simple as building up all my Space, Western, Aquazone, Adventurers and Ninja sets and actually have somewhere to put them! The fact that I have them all and they have to stay in boxes is heartbreaking - somebody get me a warehouse!!!

LEGO is great because... It is limitless.

LEGO fans are great because... They understand the need to stay playful and creative.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Scalextric

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Rock music

My favorite Foods: Sunday Roast Dinner

My favorite Movies & TV: Friends, Buffy, most films

My favorite Artists: I don't believe in acknowledging artists to this degree - art is too personal

My favorite Music: varied, from Natalie Imbruglia through Type O Negative to Slayer

My favorite Pets & Animals: don't like pets

Words which best describe me: homely, shy, long-fused, laid-back, trusting, keen

I love it when... I get the thrill of excitement, be it from music, lego or family related.

I hate it when... I get frustrated through the inability to do what I want.

I can't seem to get enough... time

I always seem to have enough... discoloured white bricks

I hope I always... keep building Lego to keep me young

I wish I could... win the lottery (although that's gonna be difficult as I don't play it!)

I could never... betray

I hope I never... become a fuddy-duddy

I wish I hadn't... been so shy in formative years

In my craziest moments... I bought an Eternal album, purely on the basis that Louise Nurding was very, very, VERY FIT!

Believe it or not... My wife and I were born just 12 hours apart.

If I were super-human... I'd take to the school of Batman vigilante crime fighting.

More & Less:
  • more Rock music in the charts, less garage, r n' b, etc etc etc
  • more pride in Britain, less bandwagon jumping to other countries' "cool"
  • more respect for fellow humans, less ignorance in youth

Rules I try to live by:
  1. keep going
  2. do what feels right
  3. make the best of what you have

Additional comments:

art is there for the taking, but keep it to yourself
