Some more attempts at the trapezoid shaped yard:
R-Yard3: Perfect geomety, but the "main" line is composed of all
curves. Not preferrable or very nice looking.
R-Yard4: Geometry is good, and the trapezoid shape works. Minimal
curves required to make the main line fit.
R-Yard5: Variations on 4. The 2 "ends" are different, and of course,
could be used on either end. The right end exits the yard at a
different angle. To maintain the same exit angle, an extra curve
would be required. Minimal "fudging" is required to make these
layouts fit.
R-Yard6: Two more variations 4. 2 different "ends" that take us less
real estate. There are myriad other similar variations that will also
fit. Again with these 2, some fudging is required, but it is very
minimal.
Keep brainstorming!

| I did some playing around with that idea Kevin had regarding the Rolling stock yard. I'm having trouble being able to connect the other end up. Any ideas? (URL) the Train Designer layout.
