Some dead LUGs?

Hi,

while adding a few logos to the respective group sidebars, I noticed a few LUGs
which are kind of unlively. Could anybody help to clarify the state of the
following LUGs?

CarLUG, CMLUG, GMLUG, HRMUG, TCLUG

CedarLUG: Is Brian Pilati the unaccompanied member of this LUG?

CLB: Website down, is this LUG still active? (Jason?)

KIDLUG: Website Hijacked

Just a pointer: LUGCO & LUGOLA: Your sites are down.

Ummm...the LUGCO site is still working fine.  It hasn't been updated recently,
but the site pops right up.  Were you maybe using www.lucgo.COM instead of
www.lugco.ORG ?

Hi David,

I used .COM indeed, thanks for pointing this out! The URL is updated in LUGMap
and LUGCO's group sidebar now.

The Central Missouri Lug no longer exists.  It was absorbed by Gtwlug (the Saint
Louis Area Lug).  Gateway Lug members met yesterday and would like to have our
own newsgroup area on lugnet as other lugs do.  Thank you.

Thank you very much René.  Posting on lugnet will be much more convenient than
our previous yahoo site.  Hopefully more Saint Louis Area fans will see our
group and join.

Rene -

Dormant, but not dead.  Please add NYCLUG (New York City LEGO Users Group) to
the mix and look for a renewed push for members beginning early 2007.

Find our blog here: http://nyclug.blogspot.com.

Thanks, and

Play well,

Sid

TCLUG (Twin Cities, a.k.a. Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, US) is alive and
well.  They use Yahoo groups to communicate and AFAIK don't have a web site so
aren't very publically visible.  (Frankly I'm not sure how they attract new
participants; maybe just word of mouth.)

Thanks for clarification, Steve! I just thought TCLUG is no longer, since I
haven't found any websites and the group is pretty quiet.

Word of mouth works for TCLug, we just never formally organized ourselves and
set up a website.  We are still quite active though, and meet monthly.  Anyone
in the area is welcome to join.  But we do exist...we have a great group of
diverse people...let me know if anyone is interested or if you have any other
questions.

Hello, I am Brian Pilati.  CedarLUG has officially been laid to rest.  RIP!

CedarLUG has been merged with WAFOL to form ULUG (Utah LUG).  It was more
convenient to have one club in Utah.

Gary McIntyre is the unofficial president of ULUG.

With my permission the map may be altered.

Thank you,
Brian

Hi Brian,

thank you very much for the explanation.

So on the LUGMap, I can clear both, CedarLUG and WAFOL to create ULUG? Do you need a LUGNET newsgroup for ULUG? Probably it would help to get more members, since the only thing I found on the web searching for “ulug +lego” was this :-) http://www.flickr.com/photos/jordann/257096445/

Currently there are 7 members:

Gary McIntrye (President, formerly with SEALUG) Brian Reed Jeffrey Jordan Isaac Luke

We just started the LUG about 3 months ago and still working on the website, etc.

We have a google group. I will ask the group if they would like a newsgroup

Thank you, Brian

Rene,

This is Jeffrey Jarvis and I am a member of ULUG. I talked to the other members and they agreed that it would be helpful if we had a newsgroup for posting upcoming events and meetings, and to help us gain a presence here so those who are in the area and are looking for a club to join can find out about us. So if you could create one for ULUG that would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeffrey

Hi René-

PNLTC diverged into two spereate entities on August 28, 2004.

PNLTC is now GPLR (Greater Portland LEGO Railroaders) and PSLTC (Puget Sound LEGO Train Club).

Please note that the PNLTC name, herald and website are now retired/archived, but the clubmembers’ energy, enthusiasm and friendship continues to thrive and grow! We always look forward to opportunities to create, build and display our work together.

Please visit: Greater Portland LEGO Railroaders (GPLR) & Puget Sound LEGO Train Club (PSLTC)
