  Re: Appraiser for collection

Here is my inventory situation: I have bought most of my sets on sale or clearance. I had a Bricklink store as well as selling on eBay. The sets I bought on clearance, then resold for profit, was intended to "finance" the pieces for MOC and the sets (...) (16 years ago, 22-May-08, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Appraiser for collection

(...) Some very good observations and points. A set only has a value if someone wants to buy it. To sell a substantial collection at one time would probably be impossible. If the collection is large, few people would have the money at one time to (...) (16 years ago, 14-May-08, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Appraiser for collection

(...) Very different, yes. Mostly because selling the collection as a whole attracts almost nobody as buyers. You won't find many people willing to shell out thousands of dollars for an entire AFOL collection. (...) I'm not sure if that's (...) (16 years ago, 14-May-08, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Appraiser for collection

(...) Thanks for your input John. I am in a weird position. I am looking for an appraisal, not for insurance value, but for a fair value. I believe that because I am not in a selling position, that an overall collection has a different value than (...) (16 years ago, 14-May-08, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Appraiser for collection

(...) What I did was go through Bricklink, item by item and list the average price of each set I owned in the computer. This was not easy as I took into consideration the condition of the box, the instructions and the bricks. While this might not be (...) (16 years ago, 14-May-08, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Exclusive Gold Chrome C3PO

(...) Well, by the same token, Princess Leia's used to go for what? Like $50+ bucks? Which was back when she was only ever available in the original Millenium Falcon. And she wasn't even chrome-plated! But with all the hype about there only being (...) (17 years ago, 16-Aug-07, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Exclusive Gold Chrome C3PO

(...) If you figure that gold is selling at about $660 a troy ounce, and I'd say that it would take at least 2 troy ounces to make a minifig and probably more; that would put a solid gold minifig well above $1000.00, and probably closer to $2000.00.   Re: Exclusive Gold Chrome C3PO

(...) We have two C3PO figs from the 1000steine lottery (my brother and I were lucky), but indeed it is extreme to pay 200$ for it. On the other hand the 7750 trains are also sold voor $350+ (17 years ago, 16-Aug-07, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Exclusive Gold Chrome C3PO

Seriously Folks, I was just curious to see if anyone had received an "Exclusive Gold Chrome C3PO" in any of their Star Wars sets and if they might be selling them on eBay. So I checked. There are idoits on eBay selling them for $200.00 at the Buy It (...) (17 years ago, 16-Aug-07, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.market.appraisal)
