I have recently come upon hard times and I feel that my collection of lego
Exo-Force sets no longer has a place in my life. I am wondering what people
would pay for a complete set of the Exo-Force line, that is to say, at least one
of every kit released, apart from the mini sets given away as freebies etc. all
the models are out of their boxes although the majority of the boxes remain,
albeit in very bad condition. some of the models have had minor conversions done
to them in the pursuit of more accuracy to the comics and my personal tastes.
most of the models are currently partially disassembled to aid with storage. one
caveat is that I live in the UK and collection would be the only viable way of
handing over the collection. thank you for your time, any offer would be greatly
appreciated.

Howdy-

I picked up a working, great-condition, complete (as far as I can tell) 107
Reversible Power Unit (http://guide.lugnet.com/set/107_3) & I'm considering
selling it, depending on what it's worth.

I haven't found any sales or value information on lugnet or eBay.  Anybody know
what a fair coing rate is for this item?

Thank you,
-Jason

I have a large illuminated Lego sign (a lightbox). It measures 55 x 55 x 9.5 cm
, is made of yellow metal with a glass front on which is the Lego logo (white on
red). It has fluorescent light bulbs inside (not sure how many or what type but
there's enough light to illuminate a room) . It is the type of official
point-of-sale sign you would see marking the Lego section of a toyshop.

What would such an item be worth do you think?

to sell or not to sell my collection

I had them in storage for several years, and now that I've had them out for
several months, they just don't bring me the joy they used to. Should I decide
to sell, what do you think they might be worth? Here's my list:

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/mlist.cgi?m=46

There are a lot of miscellaneous parts as well. Maybe a large shoebox worth.
There are no boxes. Most of the instructions are there; if not the originals,
then a printout. All of those sets are complete to the best of my knowledge. All
the parts are are in very good condition. A few suffered from my past mistaken
attempts to clean them with a toothbrush, but they're an exception.

Play Well,

Here is my inventory situation:

I have bought most of my sets on sale or clearance.
I had a Bricklink store as well as selling on eBay. The sets I bought on
clearance, then resold for profit, was intended to "finance" the pieces for MOC
and the sets I wanted to keep as sets. I now have no more intentions of selling
the rest of what I have.

I used them since for MOC and there are now partial set, some without boxes. In
my mind, the fair value would be the purchase price. But then all the sets which
have missing pieces, should be valued as bulk pieces (or weight). At this point,
it would be close to impossible to find scattered pieces to complete a set, and
like I said earlier, I sold some pieces individually, and in order to complete a
set, I would have to buy them on Bricklink or other sources.

I have a few sets that I purchased at lower cost that are still new, some sealed
and some not sealed. I believe the fair value should be the purchase price only
and even lower considering the amortization. Those sets aren't for sale and will
not be sold.

Same as some used sets that I have collected over the years, some were gifts,
some were real bargains. I also believe that the purchase price should be
considered.

I believe the MOC have a bulk value. Some have valuable pieces, but most are
built with standard bricks. I have a lot of technic MOC that I built for shows
like robots and GBC and they "suffer" a great amount of wear and tear. The
electrical pieces are very much abused, and a lot of pieces, like gears, motors
broke and needed to be replaced. Lots of pieces have scratches or dents due to
the use of them.

During shows, the train motors are very stressed and they don't last long. Same
for any other motors.

The overall condition of my pieces are in used condition. As of selling
standards, a mint piece is still in the polybag, and it is not mint in the sense
of they could be scratched. They can be called new. Some sellers use white glove
to sort the pieces they sell. I never did so, my fingers are on all over the
pieces... I still have new pieces in the polybags, but most are sorted and used.
A fair amount of pieces were donated to me... (still no value because I would
donate them as well in the case I would have to part with them)

The sets bought from Shop@Home, regular price or sale price, should have a lower
value if used or not complete, or the same value in the case of still new.

To resume, I believe that the inflated or speculated value on selling websites
are only for buying/selling purpouses and shouldn't be used for a fair appraisal
value.

LMKWYT, Sincerly, Jean-Marc
