I will be in VA this week, or part of it. I fly out tonite, getting in late. I
am for sure going to be around tomorrow (Tuesday) nite, but depending on the
needs of the client, may or may not fly home Wednesday, or stay later.

if anyone is interested in getting together, drop me a line or call my cell,
it's not hard to find the number as it is on any email I've ever sent, just
about.

I am flying in/out of Norfolk, and staying at a Courtyard in Virginia Beach.

Would LOVE to hang with folks!

Just trolling a line to see what bites!

We have a club called HRMUG in Norfolk, primarily interested in Mindstorms.
There is also a legend about a train club in Chesapeake, but its members
seem to be as rare and elusive as the Sasquatch.  Also, if you're into Lego
models and trains, RICHLUG in Richmond is a good group.

If you want more information about HRMUG (or any of the others) leave a
message for us in our newsgroup in the ORGANIZATIONS section of LUGNET.

Greetings Everyone!

Just wanted to remind y'all that our next RichLUG meeting is this coming
Saturday, 6/29/02 Noon-5 p.m. at the Tuckahoe Library.  The large meeting
room downstairs is reserved for us.  I plan to be there from Noon
on...Remember though, YOU don't have to stay there all day - stop by, say
"howdy" and stay as long or as little as you like.

Tim will be bringing the completed State Capitol Building to show off and so
we can take some pictures for BrickShelf.

I'm planning on bringing my collection of the new Monster Studios sets.  I
want to let other folks check out the built sets before I start tearing them
down for parts.

I've also built a new car for the Ghostline Express train.  I've constructed
a Pumpkin Coach using bricks in the medium-yellow orange color.  I'm going
to bring the whole train. I'll also bring track/power so we can run trains
(bring yours if you want).

Don't know if this next idea will go over but I'm also thinking about
bringing a MegaBloks set for us to check out.  I stumbled across a huge MB
space port set in my attic the other day that a co-worker had foisted on me
last year (her son is "too old" for them).  I initially tried to tell her
that MegaBlocks are not the same as LEGO but it wasn't getting through so I
just graciously accepted the set.

I thought at some point I might be able to animate some kind of LEGO vs.
MegaBloks Space Battle.  So far, I've never even opened the box to check out
the pieces so I thought it might be interesting to see what's actually in
there.  Personally, I've never had a chance to look over a whole MB set
(only random pieces that show up in purchases) so I'm interested in what
I'll find.

I'll understand if others would rather not participate.

Also at the meeting, I'll have a chance to show off my new brickmation video
that I created primarily to show at BrickFest. I made a video for the song
"The Mollusk" by the group Ween.

Plus we'll be starting to make plans for the September train show and
finalizing BrickFest plans for those of us who will be attending.  We'll
probably also be trying to talk to the library staff about plans for a
Display and LEGO Day in November.

Hope to see some of y'all at the meeting.  For information on directions to
the library visit www.richlug.org.

The Hampton Roads Mindstorms Users Group (HRMUG) is sponsoring a series of
SUMO-theme meetings and exhibitions during the second quarter.

Our meetings are held the third Saturday of each month from 2-4 PM.  April's
meeting will be at the Pretlow Public Library in the Ocean View section of
Norfolk.  Pretlow is at the intersection of Granby Street and Ocean View
Avenue, about 1 mile from I-64.

Our SUMO arena is a 4 ft X 4 ft plywood sheet, painted primer white with an
8 inch wide flat-black circle with outer diameter approximately 4 ft.  The
objective is to 'push' or otherwise get the opponent to exit the white
circle of the arena.  Except for a maximum size of 1 ft in any dimension and
no weaponry designed to cause damage, the rules are up in the air.  We'll
make some concrete rules at the next meeting.

Other club activities include a MOC display and contest, BYOB (Bring your
own Bricks), and a Freestyle Play area (for those who just want to play with
some bricks.)

For more information, just post or e-mail me.  I check these boards every
few days.
