Cranberry TRU: Clearance + Geoffrey's B-day = 1/3 price LEGO

Hit the Cranberry TRU - the clearance pickings were fairly slim, but they did
have the HP2 "Dumbledore's Office" set on green-tag clearance for 50% off,
which, when combined with the "buy 2, get one free" promotion means that you can
get 3 $50 sets for $50.

They had a few smaller sets on clearance - mostly the NBA collector's packs -
and a few of the tub with the 500 bonus pieces.

Is anyone going to BrickFest from Pittsburgh?

I'm investigating options for my BrickFest and GenCon trips this summer. GenCon
is in Indianapolis the weekend after BrickFest and my manager is located in
Pittsburgh so I'm thinking of flying one way to DC, then travelling to Indy via
Pittsburgh and working 3 days and then driving to Indy and flying back to
Portland from Indy. I'd be interested in possible ride sharing from DC to
Pittsburgh and possible crash opportunities in Pittsburgh (and hey, if anyone is
going to GenCon from Pittsburh, getting a ride to Indy...).

   Frank-

If I am unable to go on my research trip to South Africa for
August and September, I will probably be driving from Detroit
to DC.  In that case, Pittsburgh is on the way, so it would be
no problem to pick someone up.  (Bear in mind this is a VERY
big "if" given that the only reason I would put off going to
South Africa is if something bad happens or I am not able to
re-enter the country for a specified time owing to my visa from
2003.)  Also, I would have a much nicer car (and a much larger
one!) than I had last time around--big ol' Olds Intrigue boat--
and I probably wouldn't have anything (!!) to bring.

So it's a long-shot, but it's there.  Email me on my braun (at)
history (dot) rutgers (dot) edu email about it as we get closer
to the time--I don't expect I'll know for sure until late June
precisely what my plans will look like.

   all best

Hello Yinzers,
After five years away, I've moved back to Pittsburgh and finally
settled in to my new home.  Now that the field season (I'm a
conservation biologist) is slowing down, I'm interested in hanging out
with fellow LEGO fans.  My main interests are trains and town (and
space) and I was one of the founding members of WAMALUG.

Is anyone else out there?

Not big news, but the Kmart in McIntyre Square has a handful of the new
monster-themed Studio sets, but not the biggest one.  Also, Target has at
least a couple Spybotics sets, but I haven't looked too closely at them.

I notice also that TRU in the South Hills has several copies of the
Sopwith Camel kit as well as a few studio sets as well.

While I'm at it, I've seen the new Designer sets at both the South & North
Hills TRUs.
