Im not relly a AFOL im 14 but my group is open to all ages

Hi Corwin,
I'm from Houston, but I can try to help with some advice. I've been involved
with my local LUG- TexLUG.
You've posted here in the various local groups, so that's a start. Try
looking for LUGNET members that live in Louisiana by searching through the list:
http://www.lugnet.com/people/members/bycountry.cgi
You can email them direcly, if they've left an address on their member page.
Also, try asking on RTL:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&group=rec.toys.lego
As for a website, you can search through the various LUG sites to get ideas.
For example, the US LUGs:
