Dear all,
Finding myself between projects I decided to finally finish off this train which
Ive had almost finished for a while. Its a
ChS2t electric loco and
has to be one of the tallest (and probably biggest) locos around. Although I
usually prefer to make former-USSR stock seven-wide because of the width of the
prototypes, I designed this one six-wide in order to better show the height.

Please let me know what you think and/or any additional info about this train.

Dear all,
Just uploaded pics of my rendition of a Russian EMU that runs one of the legs of
the Trans-Siberian railway. Not sure of the name and class of it as the only
railway fan pictures I could find were on a Russian site in Russian (x-posted to
.loc.ru just in case).
You can see the real thing here
or here and as you can see
it is in fact an EMU but I could find no pictures of the carriages so left it at
the engine.
I really, really like the design of this train. It has that real Soviet
Commercial Design style that is such a fascinating design movement (I know it
has a name but I cant find it off-hand). The nose is just fantastic.
The brickshelf gallery (once moderated) is
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=133026
and deep links to some pics are
Iso view,
Front view
and Side
view.
I hope to make some instructions for it sometime and have uploaded the .mpd for
a start. I still need to check that the model is buildable although I think it
is.
At present there are two designs for the SNOT nose, one which is more realistic
but unbuildable (no 1x3x2 arches in Sand Green) and the other (pictured) which
is not as satisfactory but can be built.
Please let me know what you think. Id also be interested in other peoples
experiences with Russian trains as I find the Soviet design fascinating.
Thanks for you comments,
Tim

Hi Matthias,
Sorry for this inconvinience. I should have responded only to the Dutch
(lugnet.loc.nl) instead of all those country's.
Regards,
Ludo

Hi Matthias,
..and a babelfisch translation from Dutch to English would not help much.. :-)
Herewith Ludo's story translated:
/start/
Hi Paul,
Thanks for this proposition. We, some Vlamingen (=people from the Dutch
speeking part of Belgium *khm) intend also to start a Club, if possible.
Every bit of help from experienced guys from De Bouwsteen is welcome! Our first
meeting is at my place on 12.04.2003. Result of the meeting?... W'll see.
/end/
Klaas H. Meijaard
Hé Ludo! Veel succes! We zijn benieuwd naar jullie bevindingen!
/transl:/ Good luck! :-)
