I cant believe it. As a native New Yorker, I would see those two beautiful
towers every morning on my way to school. Never would i imagine that they
would be gone forever. Its very hard to think that the US is now involved in
the fighting, but we are, and we probably will be even more as time
progresses. At my high school earlier today, (9/11), the TVs went on and a
report of a passenger plane crashing into one of the Twin Towers was all we
heard. Everyone glued their eyes on the TV set, which soon showed the second
tower being hit by yet another passenger jet. I myself was very nervous
because my mom works there, and i feared that she was hurt, or possibly a
casualty. A few minutes, thank god, I got a hold of her on my cell phone,
which came in handy even though they arent allowed in my school. She is
fine, Thank God. I wish i could say the same for the 30,000 some what people
who unfortunately lost their lives today in the deadly collapsing of the two
towers, approx. 20 minutes after they were hit. There is no doubt in
anyone's mind that this was terrorism, and that this might only be the
beginning.
As people, we must all remember that we are all the same, we are all living
people who have the same feelings. we all get hurt when something bad
happens, we all become happy when a victory is accomplished, we all fear
when something bad might happen. Its funny how i had to write a report about
hatrid and racism the night before. Lets all keep in mind that we should
respect one another here on lugnet, and hopefully respect the people around
you, even though they might be different. I cant describe what my school was
like, but all i knew was that everyone was crying, upset, and in panic.
There were about 200 firefighters who died while trying to save others,
while about 80 NYPD, NY state police, NJ state police, and other Law
enforcement officials died in the emplosion too.
I believe there will be another war, but im not sure. I really do not want
to think about that, but it could be fact. My heart goes out to those who
lost their lives at the NYC, pentagon, and anywhere else that was brutalized
in this act of terrirism. My heart also goes out to each and everyone from
LUGNET, or anyone who reads from LUGNET daily, because even though we all
have different backrounds,races, nationalities, and religions, we can all
still be a big group of friends. We all also share a big passion for Legos,
so lets keep up our friendship together. It may be hard from all of the
troubles going on around us, but we can pull through. God bless you all, and
