FAQ / Shiri Dori / Spamcake

How in the world is spamcake related to lego? And what does McDonald’s got to do with it?

Direct Quotes - a very large and funny file. Readers beware - you’re in for a scare...

Confusion and Information

From Greg Majewski ?:

Where do you get your spamcake sayings? Do you have a spamcake randomizer, or do you put them in manually?

From Tom McDonald: !

No randomizer. I put them in manually. Each one has been different and I’ve tried not to make them too similar, or at the very least, separate similar ones by a fair amount of time.

I don’t really want to say where I get them (kind of a trade secret you might say :), but suffice it to say there’s no spamcake collection but my own. Let’s also just say you have to be sufficiently wierd.

I may have to harvest them from Lugnet and build a database or something in case I should ever come up with an extra 189 hours a week.

<half-heartedly> Anyone care to help harvest? The hours are long, the pay is lousy, as in nothing. Send .txt only files, CR-LF delimited. </half-heartedly>

From Blake Christopher Gettig ! and Tom McDonald !:

There is a such thing as spamcake and you can get the resipe [sic] at www.spam.com, spam’s home page. There are: Spam cakes and the SPAM Denver Biscuit Soufflé. when replying, this message has been made with at least 10% post-consumer grade spamcake.

From Jeremy Sproat: ?

Is it me or are the spamcake directives taking on a life of their own? Are you still in control over there, Tom?

From Tom McDonald: no comment

Answers

From Robert M. Dye !:

Wull, LEGO is slightly more edible than spam...

From Mark Sandlin !:

For a long time, Spamcake existed only in the mind of TOM MCDONALD. Then he put it in his sig files on LUGNet, and it was good.

Then TOM created the Spamcake Diner, and it was good. And the people were sick, but it was still good.

[Editor’s note: and then John Neal decided to franchise (!) the Spamcake Diner and it was also good.]

Then came the LDRAW creation of TOM and Tim, Spamcake To Go, and it was good.

Then the Grand Admiral asked the R&D boys to investigate spamcake as an alternative fuel source. The Spamcake Drive was created, and it was good.

Recently, antispamcake was discovered, and research has commenced in creating a Spamcake/Antispamcake reactor.

From Shiri Dori:

Oh dear god please help me. I can’t believe I actually put in all these quotes.
