Proof of TLG's Concern for AFOL?

Dear ?:

Does anyone have any proof at all that TLG does anything more in depth as
regards AFOL than merely read Lugnet or RTL?  I mean, I could see them doing
that much to get good ideas for future sets if nothing else, sort of a real
world R&D lab and for free! But is there anything else afoot at all?

I remember one person saying something about bulk orders once -- and then a
long silence followed...

Someone throw us a bone, please.  Otherwise, any discussion about what a for
profit company may or may not think, may or may not be doing, as regards AFOL
rings pretty hollow.  And what I find interesting is the assertion that WE
need them as opposed to them needing us -- that is about as inverted as
anything I have ever heard about an economic system approximating capitalism.
I will accept the aesthetically pleasing assertion that we need each other --
but not that we are clearly in the weaker position.  We haven't even TRIED
being annoying from a publicity standpoint at all yet...

Let me be the first to assert that TLG needs us, and they ignore us to their
peril.  As it is, we probably do them an insane amount of good in terms of
marketing, development of sets, ideas for new themes, etc. --  AND ALL FOR
FREE!  I find it hard to imagine, even crazed, that we are merely tolerated as
long as we do no harm to their marketing goals.  We are free research...

If any one side has antagonized the other I would say that TLG's long silence
anywhere within this newsgroup or RTL is such antagonism towards us, AFOL.
The existence of the subcategory "Dear Lego" offensively suggests that posting
here does about as much good as writing a letter to Santa Clause or to God!

It is suggested that a relationship exists between us and TLG.  Where is the
evidence of anything beyond consumer to multi-national corporation?  If the
scandal scans of earlier in the week belonged to the SONY corporation, no one
would have said anything -- it could have been an actionable offense, but no
one would have given two hoots as to the ethics involved.  Maybe I am wrong,
but I just don't think so.

If there ever was a time for the relationship to reveal itself, then let it do
so now.  Alternatively, I would like no further mention of it, and certainly
no further use of this mythical relationship as a means of arguing an issue.

The hand has long been extended in friendship, for TLG to not take it up with
a firm grasp is offensive!  From a transactional analysis view that means we
AFOLers are NOT okay with TLG.  If thats the way it is, then so be it.

Its put up or shut up, Baby!

The collective and symbolic AFOL hand of friendship is extended...

And TLG does what?  Process its accounts receivable?  What?
