Opinion: Lego Castle Knockoffs

Maybe this is something that has been discussed before, maybe not. I was
just wondering what others thought about some of the various lego castle
knockoffs made by Tyco, Larami, and Mega Blocks in the 1980s and early
1990s. I've seen some of these on e-bay from time to time and even have
some of the parts from the Mega Block viking ship (black and brown armor,
viking helms). I've found some of the items made by Larami to be
interesting (chrome swords, short axes, different style helms and sheilds),
but haven't seen any of them up close to really be a judge of their
quality/compatibility.
Do others use these parts in their MOCs and armies? Or am I talking
blasphemy here and will shortly be banned from ever posting again. If I've
broken some written or unwritten rule regarding the mention of other
products please forgive me, I'm new to posting here.
Just curious.

| I got an armory set a long time ago at some old department store. Here's the weapons they had; Battle axe - black throwing(?) axe maybe half or less as long as old pikes, but blade was just as big. This was a good weapon and I still use it for (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-01, to lugnet.castle)
