Hey,

Dunno if Heather posted about this, but... Wowie, Maui! <whistle>
These models by Heather have some amazing attention to details, and great
techniques... I hope she won't mind if I steal some designs! ;-)

Thanks very much, Shiri - high praise from the Mistress of Detail :-) I totally
missed this post at the time (I read via the web) but spotted it when reading
back through .castle during the blackout.  Here are a couple more nifty ideas
available for theft:

A spruce tree.  Somewhat tangled and uneven, but then, spruce trees are!  Also
a bit tippy if built as shown: could use some stabilizing.

A minifig-scale spinning wheel, made with Technic parts so the wheel really
turns.  An elastic band can be added for wool.  Thanks to James P. for figuring
out how to make it stand up.

DAT files are available for both in the same folder.  I find LDrawing something
is the easiest way to share it, since I don't have a digital camera and I do
have a little baby - I can LDraw on the laptop with one hand while the other is
occupied!  When I get some time with an empty lap, I tend to build or sort
really fast - I have things hyper-sorted in order not to waste time at it.

Maybe on the next sunny day that Eleanor takes a long nap (ha!), I'll take some
models outside to photograph them - I'm just learning to take
non-point-and-shoot pictures and it takes me forever to set them up right.  And
scanning also takes two hands :-( so it may be a while before I get photos
posted.  But I'll do my best.
