Eric, you are doing some *terrific* things there.

If you're not satisfied with the wall gate structure, I'd suggest making the
outer face a little more interesting.  Maybe a few more windows, flags, or
shields...?

Well I have finally gotten around to updating my Castle pages again.

http://www.nelug.org/members/kingsley/castle/

I have added the following structures...

1.  Right now this is just a generic building for my town although I do • like it
quite a bit.  This building came about mostly because I am running low on • key
parts in my favorite colors so I pulled out my classic bricks in classic • colors
to see what I could come up with and this was the result after many failed
attempts with bad color combinations.

2.  This is the Gate and Modular city wall design I have come up with for • my
Medieval city.  I am still not 100% happy with the top of the gate but at • the
moment I am at a loss as to how to change it.  So for now this is the • current
version.

3.  This is just another peasant home done in the "Dave Eaton" style. • (Check
out the link on my page to his peasant homes).

I have made one change.

I have changed/updated the roof on my first peasant home.  Once again in • the
"Dave Eaton" style.

Finally I have added a page for my city.  Basically this is just a few • pictures
of all the buildings taken together.  I expect this page will change and • grow
as the city does.

Thanks!

Actually it is not so much the facade of the structure I am unhappy with.  The
feeling I wanted the stucture to give was one of strength and I feel that to
many windows and other things hanging off it take away from that feeling.

The part that I guess I am talking about is the Guard lookout building on top
of the center of the gate and inparticular the red roof.  To me the roof takes
away from the feeling of strength I am going for.  I have tried several other
solutions to date anyware from removing the room all together to extending it
and just making it another tower and everything inbetween.

It's not like I can't live with it.  I have grown to actually like it to an
extent I just can't help but feeling that there is something better I could be
doing with it.

Thanks for the ideas though.  If I ever get into doing a story board and I need
to decorate it for a celebration I will definitely be adding more flags and
decoration.
