I have posted some pictures of the Market I have been working on.  The market
currently has 4 shops and I would like to double that to 8 at some point but I
want to do something else for a little while so I thought I would post what I
had done before working on some more structures.

I am most happy with the Blacksmiths Shop but the overall effect is what I was
going for and I am happy with what I have so far.

Very cool.  I like the 'feel' of it.  I'm also struck by how cool the
breastplate looks with that helm (the mounted knight) - I hadn't tried that
combo, and it looks good.

hey, eric ~

beautiful job!  the clever use of star wars, freestyle, and adventurer
elements in a castle setting is wonderful inspiration!  the fruit market is
my favorite...  great detail!

Looks great, Eric. Especially the drug store.
'Medeaeval marketplace' is becoming a recurrent theme in Castle worlds.
Right now, I'm building a castle too, and on the center court there's....  a
small market being set up too. And like you, I also put star wars figs in
there as great peasants, including the long Qui Gon Jin hair :-)
I plan to finish the castle during my holiday leave; pictures won't be up
until in three to four weeks from now.

At the moment, I am listening to the radio morning show, and if you
recall the episode of "WKRP in Cincinnati" where the more "hip" DJ's invited
a highway patrolman to the studio to administer breathalyzer and dexterity
tests to them as they got plastered, in an effort to discourage drunk
driving during the holidays, then you can identify.  Well, these current
DJ's are not doing as well as ol' Johnny Fever, and, by listening, I fear I
am getting a contact buzz!  At this time, I would like to publicly
discourage drunk driving myself.
   But I digress...
   Eric,
Your site is great!  I recall the first time I looked at it, I was quite
upset with you because the market link wasn't clickable!  I loved the little
steepleless church, and yearned to see more.  Thanks for updating it, and I
hope you get back in the mood for Castles soon!

Don't worry I am still into Castle at the moment I just wanted to do something
other than the Market for a little while.  I am thinking of doing some
residential homes or something like that.  I have not built up the courage to
try and tackle a large castle yet but in time I think I will get there too.

Also I was corrected on the spelling of Medieval and will fix it on my site as
soon as I get a chance.  I guess that shows my limited knowledge in the area.

Thanks,  In one way this has been an interesting challenge for me because the
only Castle set I currently own is 6097 Knight Lord's Castle.  I have been
forced to use what I have from the rest of my collection that includes a lot of
Star Wars, Space, and freestyle stuff along with a few Adventurer and Ninja
sets.

I can't wait to get a few of the new sets so I can get some more soldiers.  If
it wasn't for the Star Wars figs I would be hurting to even populate to couple
of structures I have done so far.  (I bet I am one of the few people here that
have more peasants than soldiers and kings :-)  ).

Your market looks really nice.  Considering the fact that you only have 6097,
I am even more amazed!  I love the grocery store with the brown crates, tilted
at an angle, filled with oranges and apples (if that's what those 1x1s are).
Looks very realistic.  :)

I, on the other hand, have a ton of castle sets and I've never built something
as "cozy" as your market...

I have also been working on a market for my imperial town.  This is more
pirate related, but is very similar.  The pics are at:

http://www.cyberis.net/~tcoats/models.htm

The imperial town has a market, a little like the other one someone
posted a picture of, with jewelry, bakery, wine seller, crate of apples,
tool shop, and stable.

Take a look.

Very neat details and a very lovely layout. As always we want more. =)
How about some real close up photos of the really neat details, like the
close up on the imperial probe droid. I would of liked a photo on those
Jawas and a (if possible) 'live view' from the market place to see it as
the people (read minifigs) see it. While you're at it, get one on that
sand castle too.

Wonderful setup, I stand in awe. ;P~
