Does anyone know of a minifig-scale rendition of a hawk?  Or other
similar birds.  I've been looking at the farm birds included in
medieval market set for inspiration, but I haven't been able to come
up with anything that really flies.

What about a flipper, a 3x3 corner plate and a 1x2 'shoe'/'beak' part? It's
a bit big, and maybe looks more like a kite, but at least it looks like it
could fly...

That's not bad, but it did turn out kind of ... flat.

Here's what I put together (well, with virtual lego). It's a bit too big,
compared to a minifig.  But it's about on par with the preformed owls, so I
think it will do.

I received a reply from Mike G. and he said that we could use his models, and
that he would update all his models with a compatible software license.

You can see in the image below that SNOT roads create a lot more options when it
comes to designing road markings, stripes, and so forth. It's a lot more obvious
now that there are one-way streets in the center of town.

The same author also created a series of examples of driveways and ramps, though
I haven't used any yet.

However, I don't think the distribution license is compatible.

I definitely think it's an improvement. The town looks more lived-in with the
new roads. I did have to move several buildings though since they no longer fit
where they were positioned originally. I also took the opportunity to expand the
shopping center so that it fit in its new slot.
