  New MOC: PT5 Albescent Cormorant

The Cormorant debuted at BrickCon 08, but it's history goes back 9 years to a post-Mindfest build inspired by my haul from that event. I ended up with a bunch of wings with no matching pairs, so I built a ship to use them. (URL) The first draft> (...)   Re: Superscooper!

(...) Great work, Samarth! It's always pleasing to see rowboats put to a good use. Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Richie Dulin CO Legeaux (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Superscooper!

It's been a few years since I posted anything of note here on LUGNET, so it feels good to be back. I saw one of these on TV and the idea of a plane that could scoop up water and dump it on a wildfire kind of appealed to me. So did the idea of using (...)   Re: Underweight SNOT

(...) Hi Tim, Just build 8-wide trains to remove limits ;) Well... I think we can add a remember about SNOT 180 in 1-wide (URL) (16 years ago, 19-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Underweight SNOT

(URL) Hi all, I decided to play around with some SNOT ideas that can be contained a single 1-wide brick. Restricting it to such a narrow base means that detailed walls can be designed around the PFS components in a locomotive or wagon. Hope you like (...)   Re: Eero Saarinen Inspired Church For NBM Display

Well, I'm done and will be taking this to be displayed today. You'll find all the pictures at the link below, just in case you can't make it to the event. Have Fun! C-Ya! Rich (...) (16 years ago, 21-Jun-08, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) Thanks much! I actually had considered your solution while I was working on designing my boiler, I used your similarly snotted boiler as inspiration. The problem I run into is that my boiler isn't all one color, so in order to use your (...) (16 years ago, 22-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) Thanks much! I think if I ever do a non-streamlined 8-wide steamer in the future, I'll have a hard time decided between this cheese slope technique and the curved half arch. I like the curved half arch look better, but last I checked they were (...) (16 years ago, 22-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) Thanks much! To be honest it didn't cost quite the fortune some may think. It was pricey, but it only cost me about $15 for all the cheese slopes I purchased, and I didn't use them all. I've used half cylinders before on my streamlined (...) (16 years ago, 22-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) ... (...) ... (...) Very nice. I saw your comment on flickr about the running boards. You might want to try what I did on my similarly snotted boiler. I used white for the running boards, but then right above I used 1x2x1 panels instead of (...) (16 years ago, 21-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) It is indeed! It's looking great. I used a very similar technique for a German BR-52 locomotive. Where you used 1-stud width of tile I used two, so my boiler came out to be 6-wide. Based on your design it looks like you might have discovered (...) (16 years ago, 19-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) Really nice work Anthony must have cost you a fortune in cheesebricks but the final effect is really good, I'm probably more inclined to use half cylinders and stay 6 wide but this look great,I must admit though I always admire Ben Beneke's 7 (...)   Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

I wasn't going to post this, but after John Neal complained (and accurately so) that it was too quiet in Lugnet.trains, I decided to go ahead.   LSculpt update - Mac version available!
