Offer.  Set No. 2 containied 141 pieces and cost $2.00 plus 1 Velveeta End
Flap.  I don't recall the year (mid- to late-1960s?).  Ah, for the good old
days.  My second oldest brochure is also undated, touting sets #001 to
799 -- unpriced but available from "LEGO Building Toy, a Quality Product of
Samsonite Corporation. Denver, Colorado."  No mention of Ole Kirk or Denmark
anywhere.
LEGO Dark Age: None.  But I was born again in 1986 with the coming of the
#6074 Black Falcon's Fortress.
First LEGO set after the Dark Age: Noted above -- I eventually bought 22 of
set #6074.  Wish I had more.
Favorite Theme(s): Castle.  Also Adventurers, Trains.
