Greatest Claim to LEGO Fame: I was at the '86 World's Fair in Vancouver

around in a daze. Models bigger than me! Too bad I lost the big brochure
with pictures of all the models. Sigh.

Location: Ithaca, NY
E-mail Address: ard11@cornell.edu
LEGO/home page URL(s): -----
Marital Status: Married
Children: None (but we just got a kitten!)
Occupation: Grad student (hopefully I'll be mathematician some day... :)
On R.T.L (A.T.L) Since: September 1996

Well, in response to the below question, I sort of have 2 collections--one of
them resides with me here in NY and has been acquired since last June, when my
wife gave me a Freight 'n Crane Railway for a wedding gift. The other part
lives with my brother Steve in Minneapolis along with the rest of our
childhood Lego. Perhaps I should try to convince his wife that my Lego is
taking up too much space in their house...

But for my current collection:
# of Sets in LEGO Collection: 25 or so
# of Unopened Sets in Collection: None (can't afford to keep them around--too
much good stuff out there to play with now!)
# of LEGO Pieces: 6000+
# of LEGOfests Attended: 0
# of LEGO Theme Parks Visited: 0
First LEGO Set: Hmmmm...I think it was a little late 70's set--a
bulldozer/tractor with red wheels that had tracks that fit over them.
Favourite Theme(s): Train
Favourite Set(s): 4565 Freight 'n Crane Railway, 2150 Retrostation, Volcano
Island (it's got great parts--we have four of 'em!)
Favourite Piece(s)/Minifigure(s): Hmmm...
Set/theme you would like to see: Classic passenger train

Current LEGO Project: Convincing myself to put the Lego away so I can do work
when the semester starts soon...(but we've recently built a cool house, a big
tunnel for the train, and a minifig clothing store--the last one was a
blast--my wife agreed to let me leave the hands in the torsos as long as I
didn't put heads with the hats and wigs on display :).

Greatest Claim to LEGO Fame: Well, I probably don't have one (except perhaps
finding a Guarded Inn for $15 in near-mint condition a few months ago).

Other (Non-LEGO) Interests: Math and science, church/campus fellowship,
basketball and other sports, music, our cat

Greatest Claim to LEGO Fame: ??????

Other (Non-LEGO) Interests: Travelling

Personal note: I have been on this newsgroup since 1997. My main interest was
everything that has to do with trains. I collect train sets, i have all 9v
sets and some 12v sets. To get some extra money to buy the (expensive) train
sets i sell some lego now and than, mainly train sets like the Metroliner.
Due to the company policy of my Employer, KPMG, i am not allowed to have my
own homepage and e-mail account, so sometimes i use the Dejanews facilities.
If anyone has a question about trains or is looking for hard to find 12v
train sets, let me know.

Regards, Johan
