This is the U.S. version of European set 383 Low loader and excavator (1973). Interesting Trivia: Notice the hinges on the back of the trailer, only 4-studs long in the up position. The actual set released had much longer hinges, 8-studs above the deck. See the entry for 383 for an illustration of the larger hinges.
