How much detail should I go into
when describing things?


As much as you can tolerate -- the more, the better. If you've arranged your splash page or header well, people should have no trouble navigating quickly to a two-paragraph description of the coolest castle that was ever made.

Provide the following data for each set:

  1. Set number and name (example: 497 Galaxy Explorer)
  2. Number of pieces (from the box, a set listing, or a guesstimate)
  3. Year of introduction
  4. Defining characteristics (colors, shape, size)
  5. Condition (major scratches, tears, location of price tag, etc.)
  6. Completeness (missing pieces, instructions, box, etc.)

Provide the following data for each catalog:

  1. Year
  2. Catalog code (example: 119717-US)
  3. Number of pages and size
  4. Major themes
  5. Condition (scratches, tears, folds, etc.)

Provide the following data for each idea book:

  1. Name and number
  2. Year
  3. Number of pages and size
  4. Major themes
  5. Condition (scratches, tears, folds, etc.)
