Rapier

The Rapier’s one of my favorite designs I made, so far. It’s an ultra high-speed alround fightercraft, with space superiority as it’s main function(yes, those two black things on the top and the bottom are huge engines). Fit to take on multiple enemy fighters at once by diving into squadrons at high speeds, like a dolphin does with a school of tunafish, the Rapier is a dangerous, hard-to-hit opponent.

Concerning the model, this is the first time I attempted a slide-open window. Kinda hard, if you ask me. It cost me a lot of space, and the closing system’s not very good at all. I should get my hands on LEGO’s version of the Belbullab 22, some- time soon... Anyway, beside the poor slidesystem, the Rapier turned out great. Again, I had to compensate on some colors due to part inavailability, but hey, it still looks pretty ok. I doubt if a child would ever like to play with it, though, after I assembled it, I noticed it has nothing one can really hold on to without the risk of breaking something off. Ah, well, I didn’t design it as a child’s toy, so I suppose that’s ok, then! Too bad about the high number of parts, though...

Parts: 407
