Richard Schamus
("Rich/Legoman34")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Castle/Space/Technic...I've got just about a little of everything

My fascination with LEGO began... when I was about 4 years old. My favorite Uncle was an avid collector/Builder.

I once built... An Eifle-like tower as tall as I am.

Someday I will build... a LEGO town/train diarama that will wind it's way around my house around/through the walls.

LEGO is great because... it is such a versitile medium with which to create.

LEGO fans are great because... they are always willing to help others out.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Star Trek models/toys

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: other than Lego are Reading, (mostly sci-fi/horror) & computers

My favorite Foods: I'm not a picky eater... put it in front of me, if it smells good I'll probably eat it.

My favorite Movies & TV: Star Trek- (all of them). Star Wars.

My favorite Artists: Da Vinci, M.C. Escher, Dali, Rembrant, (I'll think of some more later on)

My favorite Music: Just about anything that you can tap a foot to, with a melody, and only if the lyrics are sung and not just spoken, (my mother could be a rap artist, and we all know we don't want that to happen).

My favorite Pets & Animals: I'm cat partial

Words which best describe me: Sincere, inquisitive.

I love it when... I find a great deal on Lego.

I hate it when... I can't find that piece that is the perfect connection/accent to something I'm building.

I can't seem to get enough... Lego sets. Or room to store them and time to play with them in.

I always seem to have enough... work to do.

I hope I always... have friends who enjoy Lego as much as I do.

I wish I could... afford to get all the sets that I have had to miss out on.

I could never... not be involved with Lego.

I hope I never... have to sell any part of my collection again.

I wish I hadn't... left my collection in the hands of my little brothers when I went into basic military training. They lost a few of my base plates, and who knows what else. (I was so happy to get it all back regardless, after the 3 month seperation).

In my craziest moments... I disassemble every thing that I have consructed.

Believe it or not... I've never had a dark age since I started collecting in 1975. (No, going into the military was not a dark age. I never GAVE my Lego to my little brothers, they just helped themselves since I wasn't around... gggrrrrrr..)

If I were super-human... I wouldn't have to worry about working, and I would have enough time to build what ever I wanted.

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Don't mess other people over.
  2. Tell the truth, even if it's gonna hurt.
  3. Try to do something fun every day.

Additional comments:

Until about 1996, I really thought that I was pretty much alone in my obsession, (sure, I figured there were others, but only as many as I could count on my fingers and toes). But I continued to collect undaunted. My collection slowly growing.

That was, until I got online. Boy was I wrong. And I can see that there are more AFOLs joining us every day.

Now, I'm collecting like mad, with an incredable amount of resouces available to me, that I never thought possible.

Have fun! C-Ya!
