Jim Gasser
("GI Jimbo")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Technic, Wild West (R.I.P.), the collectors' editions of Star Wars, and the new Sculptures series.

My fascination with LEGO began... when I was 6 years old. My parents forgot to read the recommended ages given on the LEGO box and bought me my first Technic set (Expert Builder back then) for Christmas, the 948 go-cart. It took me all day and evening, but I got it built. Not bad for a first grader. :)

I once built... ...a bipedal Technic Dude. Well, just the legs and waist. It stood about 15 inches tall. It had knees that flexed back and forth as it "walked," using a bunch of Technic parts centered around a pair of 40-tooth gears (one for each leg). I couldn't get it to stand up all the time, so I built a "cane" for him. My friend told me that if I turned it sideways (face down), it looked more like a swimmer. Go figure.

Someday I will build... Technic Dude Mk 2.

LEGO is great because... it just is.

LEGO fans are great because... they just are.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: If it ain't LEGO, it ain't a toy.

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Computers, camping, lots of sports (mostly as a spectator), and playing my trumpet.

My favorite Foods: Buffalo wings, Thai food, Mickey D's french fries.

My favorite Movies & TV: ESPN, Star Wars, Smokey and the Bandit, South Park, and (don't laugh) Powerpuff Girls.

My favorite Artists: Clint Black, Martina McBride, Metallica

My favorite Music: Country and Rock

My favorite Pets & Animals: None :(

Words which best describe me: Colorful, eclectic, laid-back, a "big 29-year-old kid."

I love it when... people appreciate what I do and what I'm all about.

I hate it when... people don't.

I can't seem to get enough... DUH! Money.

I always seem to have enough... DUH! Bills. No, not the green ones. (See above.)

I hope I always... stay out of the spotlight. I don't want my 15 minutes of fame. Whole lotta good that did Darva Conger.

I wish I could... get rid of this spare tire I'm carrying around my midsection once and for all. :)

I could never... force my beliefs on anyone.

I hope I never... have to play Taps at another military funeral ever again. I did that for three years.

I wish I hadn't... left my trumpet unattended on the back of that truck for 30 seconds. When I turned around, I saw two kids running off with it. :(

In my craziest moments... I <edited for content because this is a family show> and vowed never to do that again.

Believe it or not... when I was little, I used to take my Hot Wheels into the garage, crush them with a vice grip, take them into the back yard, bury them, and put little toothpicks ("tombstones") above them. What a twisted little boy.

If I were super-human... I wouldn't have to worry about the spare tire, now would I? :)

More & Less:
  • more Peace, less War (no points for originality, but if you don't agree then you're not cool)
  • more Krispy Kreme Donuts, less People hogging all the Krispy Kreme Donuts
  • more HUGE AND RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE LEGO SETS., less Annoying little stickers you have to put on LEGO pieces.

Rules I try to live by:
  1. "One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." - Helen Keller
  2. Don't dream your life; live your dream.
  3. It ain't illegal if you don't get caught. JUST KIDDING!
