David Harris ("Zonker")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Trains, fire/rescue, town, space
My fascination with LEGO began... 1984 was the first year I played with LEGO. 1991 was the first year I bought LEGO.
I once built... a two-story, 3-bay firehouse, with roll-up doors on both ends of each bay. It had a sliding pole, crew bedrooms, kitchen, dispatch center, and work area, and an outbuilding training tower. You could remove the roof and the second floor to see inside.
Someday I will build... a euro-style train station to go with my round house
LEGO fans are great because... they share their ideas on the web!
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Ham Radio, recumbent bikes
My favorite Music: Pink Floyd, YES, Boston, "classic rock"
Words which best describe me: Internet plumber, serial console guru
I love it when... I learn about something on the real railroad (http://www.ncry.org) and I can then model it in LEGO
I can't seem to get enough... time (for work, building projects, barbequing, visiting with friends, or vacation).
Believe it or not... I keep a notebook by my bed, so I can write down LEGO ideas from my dreams, without turning on the lights. (I usually have to re-draw it the next day, using the 'rough draft' as a guide. ;-)
Rules I try to live by: - Put your toys away when you're done with them.
- Don't wait until you're older if you can do it now.
- Try to do the Right Thing, and let Karma do the rest.
Additional comments:
The PNLTC founders are AWSOME builders, and were the first to post a lot of train stuff on the web. They're why I've put so much effort into my pages, and into BayLUG. They also led the way by starting a LEGO Train Club, founded to put on train displays.
GMLTC folks also ROCK, for their extensive displays, and Conan's pit-mine of LEGO ABS. ;-)
I'm glad other groups are following, but I think these gangs led the way. :-)
Finally, Todd and Suz' RULE, between LUGNET, Auczilla, and all the coding behind the other services they are supporting for the LEGO community. Thanks for the efforts!
