Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Adventurers, Aquazone, Castle, Pirates, Rock Raiders, Space, Western

My fascination with LEGO began... ...in the late 70s when my brother and I received some of the (now Classic) Space sets. Recently I was tempted back into Lego by the Star Wars sets, and now I can't control myself:}

I once built... ...a six foot long suspension bridge, complete with an under-bridge monorail system and elevators on the support columns. Also we built a supercarrier model complete with angled flight deck, working deck lifts and a complement of about 12 one-man scooters, 4 two-man scooters and a larger 'helicopter' thing that used a helipad at the back of the ship.

Someday I will build... ...Thunderbird 2, SkyDiver (from UFO), other Thunderbirds inspired vehicles using the Rock Raider line, a BIG spaceship, a BIG castle, a BIG....well, you get the idea.

LEGO is great because... ...it's so versatile, and such high quality - our old Space sets from 1978 still fit together tight, even if some of the brick markings have worn down a little - we used this stuff a lot! It also teaches kids to use their imagination, along with improving dexterity/handling skills.

LEGO fans are great because... ...we all love the same thing:}

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Action Figures (ie McFarlane), Heroscape, Warhammer

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Reading, film scores, progressive rock/heavy metal, wargames, RPGs, CCGs, movies

My favorite Foods: Pizza, tradional English roast dinner, Fish and Chips, Mozzarella sticks (!), KFC

My favorite Movies & TV: The Empire Strikes Back (still my favourite movie ever after 20 years), Aliens, Magnificent 7

My favorite Artists: Larry Elmore, Boris Vallejo, Keith Parkinson

My favorite Music: Manowar, Dream Theater, Helloween, Nightwish, Pink Floyd

My favorite Pets & Animals: Logan, Thor, Skor, Toby, Titan (miss you buddy!)

Words which best describe me: Optimistic, kid at heart, good friend, loving husband & step-dad

I love it when... ...I kick my buddy's butt at ASL, I get a great bargain at a toystore, my favourite groups release a new album, a movie score sends shivers down my spine, I spend time with my wife and step-daughters, I get a great deal on eBay

I hate it when... ...I'm away from my wife and step-daughters, I spend a lot of money on something and find it cheaper the next day, I get outbid on eBay with 15 seconds on the clock, I win on eBay and then find the same item also on eBay for a lot less.

I can't seem to get enough... ...free time! Annual Leave! Building/gaming/playing time:} Salary:} Money to take full advantage of sales when they DO happen.

I always seem to have enough... ...food:} Optimism about everything <g>

I hope I always... ...have fun. Win whatever I am playing. Have enough bricks to build what I am planning. Have enough money to take full advantage of sales when they DO happen.

I wish I could... ...retire :} Find more Lego on sale than I currently do.

I could never... ...get enough money, run out of things to spend money on.

I hope I never... ...get divorced, see my step-daughters/any future children of mine die before I do, cause any animal unnecessary pain.

I wish I hadn't... ...shot that bird with an airgun when I was 15. Smashed up my brother's Lego after he accidentally wrecked mine (that's haunted me for 20 years, that one)

In my craziest moments... ...I believe that one day I will own all the Pirates range:}

Believe it or not... ...I won a bronze medal at an international model kit show for an X-Wing fighter kit, I am a qualified fencer (bronze award), I have had two wargames published professionally.

If I were super-human... ...I would help people.

More & Less:
  • more Happiness, less Misery
  • more Optimism, less Pessimism
  • more Recent Lego building instruction sets on Brickshelf, less Cancer

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Always be optimistic - things are almost never as bad as they seem
  2. Be a faithful loving partner and step-dad
  3. Spend today - you could die tomorrow

Additional comments:

I love the fact that my wife (mostly) condones my toy buying - well it's cheaper than the cars and guns that her ex used to buy :}
