Paul Baulch
("Shnub")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Space, a bit of Castle, a bit of Pirates, and, umm.... Space.

My fascination with LEGO began... Well, it kind of began with 357 Fire Station when I was about 3, but it really became full-blown when I got the 918 Space Transport. Space rules!

I once built... A four-foot replica of the Saturn V rocket. It was a jumble of colours, and its cross-section wasn't round so much as square, but then I _was_ four years old.... ;-)

Someday I will build... A set of creations that uses as much of this ridiculously large Lego collection as possible - nothing's worse than a giant pile of unused bricks.

LEGO is great because... It a pastime which is creative enough to stimulate the mind (Did I mention that TV sucks?), and leisurely enough to bring inner peace (as opposed to wrestling with a computer). When I'm old and grey and stuck in a home, I will be happy because I will have my Lego to entertain me in my twilight years.

LEGO fans are great because... They are some of the most imaginative and good-natured people I have ever met.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Toy or model spacecraft, especially Star Wars.

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Computer games (It's also what I do for a living), science fiction, day-trips and bushwalking

My favorite Foods: Fresh bread. Candy bananas. Malaysian curries.

My favorite Movies & TV: Popular sci-fi movies, sci-fi TV series, Hong Kong movies, Japanese animation, generally anything sci-fi but I'll give fantasy a go if it's more than just a pale Tolkien imitation.

Words which best describe me: Blunt. Argumentative. Reasonable.

I can't seem to get enough... Purple bricks. Lipstick smileys. White 4x4 Wedge With Triple Slope.

I always seem to have enough... ... reasons to get up from the computer and do something else. And I'm glad.

I hope I always... Have space in my house to build something decent out of Lego.

I wish I could... Make the ultimate science fiction movie. Write the ultimate science fiction novel. Re-live those childhood Christmas Eves when I was so excited I couldn't sleep.

I wish I hadn't... Stored Lego in my room in plastic tubs. Some varieties emit fumes, and are very unhealthy! Use cardboard boxes, or plastics that are known to be safe.

In my craziest moments... Who, me? Yeah right.

Believe it or not... Dune is actually a pretty good movie if you listen carefully to the first five minutes of dialogue. No, really!

If I were super-human... Immortality.

More & Less:
  • more Pirate ships, purple slopes, less Slizers (what's the deal there anyway?), Light & Sound elements
  • more Bike tracks, less Overpasses
  • more Sympathy / Pity, less Contempt / Hate

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing to remove.
  2. I will not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
  3. Do not underestimate the power of a good night's sleep.
