Fred Herrmann
("herrminator")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Classic Space 1979-86, Star Wars Episode 4-6.

My fascination with LEGO began... ...obviously at Christmas Eve 1973. A photo from this day shows my uncle wearing a silly red coat and a white beard, giving me a big box. On this picture you can see the fascination of the whole universe in my eyes... By the way, it was the Train Set 180. No solicitation please, the parts are lost.

I once built... ...a cupboard for fireworks, with three drawers for the three firecracker sizes I bought. It was raining on that New Years Eve, so my friend and I decided to stay indoors and throw the mini bombs out of the window. What a silly idea. Of course one of the things fell into the cupboard. We had to duck and cover. After the big bang, my room resembled Berlin in 1945, with small fires burning on the carpet. I never recovered all of the bricks, but I still have some burnt blue 8x1x1 from this explosive MOC.

Someday I will build... ...the Death Star in Minifig Scale. Hey... hey, Doc, where are you taking me?

LEGO is great because... ...it's everything. Everything you want and all you can think of. It's genius and the most creative toy of all time. So much for pathos.

LEGO fans are great because... ...they are creative, open-minded and had a good childhood. Why else would they be such good people?

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: My old BMW, Slot Car Racing, PlayStation.

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: My old BMW, Vintage Car Races, expensive red cars from Maranello/Italy.

My favorite Foods: Swordfish Curry. Too exotic? OK, gimme pasta.

My favorite Movies & TV: Star Trek (Next Generation). And I've seen all 356 parts of "Dallas".

My favorite Artists: Douglas Adams, Bill Watterson, Sergio Pininfarina.

My favorite Music: Died with John Lee Hooker. *twaing*.

My favorite Pets & Animals: I like penguins, but not only these should live in their natural living space.

Words which best describe me: I'm an Aquarius. I wear black clothes and was born in the year of the first moon landing.

I love it when... ...100.000 people overlook a nice space lot on ebay so I can get it for ten or twenty bucks.

I hate it when... ...there is a LL928 on ebay for 15 $ and somebody uses the BIN function before I can.

I can't seem to get enough... ...blue and grey hinges to build space models with an absurd number of functions.

I always seem to have enough... ...blue 1x1x1 bricks, but no idea what to build with them.

I hope I always... ...will have a copy of "Life Of Brian" in my video collection.

I wish I could... ...weld car bodies and adjust the carburettors of my old BMW.

I could never... ...blast Lego bricks. Sssh! Hey, cut me some slack here! It was New Years Eve 1980 and that was more than twenty years ago.

I hope I never... ...have to sell my Legos.

I wish I hadn't... ...permitted my best friend to sell his Legos to somebody else besides me when he began his dark ages.

In my craziest moments... ...I am at work, write my actual thoughts down and get paid for them at the end of the month.

Believe it or not... ...what I wrote down here.

If I were super-human... I would be the ultimate herrminator, ta-daa! With my x-ray vision I could look through walls to see if there are some forgotten bricks that no one needs.

More & Less:
  • more individuality, less me-too
  • more speed, less limits
  • more future, less war

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Shit happens.
  2. Do what you want, but don't hurt somebody.
  3. Always look on the bright side of life.
