In 1989, Lego introduced a welcome new series called Model Team. Even the smallest sets are big and very detailed. Although all of the Model Team sets have incorporated working steering or some other such element, the focus is on visual realism and not, like Technic, technical realism. Model Team includes the larget LEGO set of all time: It is the 5571 Giant Truck, with 1,743 pieces. At the Shop at Home price of $139 U.S., that works out to a decent ~8 cents per piece.
